Houtimport Kuhn B.V. is an independent import- and wholesale company. We import mainly sawn timber in whitewood and redwood from Scandinavia, Finland and Russia.
The total import is about ca 125.000 m³ per year, which is delivered by truck or by vessel from Russia to Beverwijk.
Houtimport Kuhn has a covered storage capacity of about 15.000 m² in Beverwijk with direct access to open sea.
SAWN TIMBER
The import consists mainly of rough-sawn whitewood from Northern Europe. A smaller part consists of Redwood and Larch.
Discharge of the vessels and trans-shipment by trucks is done by Dorrestijn Stuwadoors Bedrijf (DSB) at Beverwijk.
Both the discharge and the loading of the lorries is done by DSB. Most of the goods find their way to the timber-merchants and the packaging industry.
We sell our goods mainly in the Netherlands and in the surrounding countries. In order to be able to deliver on short notice to our buyers we keep a considerable stock in Beverwijk.

HISTORY
Houtimport Kuhn was founded in 1884 when mr. J.H. Kuhn started as timber agent in Amsterdam. In the middle of the last century the company was bought by the present owner family. They concentrated mainly on the import of whitewood from Northern Europe. In 1973 the office was moved to its present location in Bloemendaal.
